Gently sloping sand and safe swimming make this beach a popular destination for families. Activities on the water include surfing, wind surfing and canoeing. Surfboard hire is also available at the beach.
Porthcurno Beach, Penzance, Cornwall (South Coast)

Owned by the National Trust this glorious beach offers golden white sand and turquoise blue sea. The outdoor patio area of the friendly beach side café is the perfect spot to enjoy a clotted cream tea and savour the views.
Praa Sands Beach, Nr Helston, Cornwall (South Coast)
Attractive, gently sloping, sandy beach backed by dunes and the village green
At both ends, the coastal path rises up over steep cliffs offering views towards Penzance and the Lizard peninsular. The bay is popular with families and surfers alike, having a south westerly aspect that receives Atlantic swells. Praa Sands stretches over one and a half miles.
This beach has great views across the bay and is ideal for sunbathing and beach games. Swimming is good but you should stay between the flags and avoid the estuary. There are also good walks across the dunes (The Towans) if you want to get away from the beach.
Sennen Cove Beach, Nr Land's End, Cornwall (North Coast)

The white sand and safe swimming areas make this beach a great destination for families. It’s also very popular with surfers and there is a surf school on the beach for those wanting to take to the waves.
